Saturday’s Alabama-Florida game offered a season’s worth of tension for both sets of fans, a perfect SEC opener for both programs.
But fans at The Swamp had to settle for a moral victory after their Gators kept the game so close. A missed PAT, which later led to UF being forced to go for a 2-point conversion that also failed, was a source of much angst:

Yep, that missed extra point was costly, and the 2-point conversion call didn’t make any Gators happy, either:

It was all a source of frustration early, though the Gators got their fans pretty excited later in the game:

Elsewhere in the SEC, Auburn trekked north to play at Penn State in front of more than 100,000 fans. The Tigers came up short, much to the consternation of their fans who made the long trip:

A big nonconference road win would have been a boost for Auburn, but it was not to be:

Fans at Ole Miss, meanwhile, had to wait out a really long weather delay before their game against Tulane could even get started:

One spectator wore Michigan gear to Saturday’s Michigan State-Miami game, got on camera and, well, social media noticed:

Speaking of Miami, our old friend #SurrenderCobra found a good place to emerge in the warm Florida sun:

Multiple cobras, actually:

But fans at Florida State, where the Seminoles are off to an 0-3 start for the first time since 1976, put those cobras in a bag:

Virginia fans found a loss to ACC rival North Carolina a bit hard to take:

And Duke did the ACC proud by beating Northwestern in a Brain Bowl game, not that certain fans on either side were taking much pride in the proceedings:

Hey, at least you can tell these sad fans went to good schools. How often do you find such perfect spelling on the internet?
