Sad trombone: Kansas fans rush the field after team beats Rhode Island
Kansas fans were hungry for a win following a 15-game losing streak, which began during the 2014 season. Well, they got one Saturday during a 55-6 rout of Rhode Island.
The Jayhawks fans were so excited that they stormed the field. Against Rhode Island.

Eventually, fans were told to go back to the stands “for the respect of this program.”

The PA announcer is right. All respect of the program is pretty much gone after fans storm the field following a win over an FCS team. Not even a dominant one either.
Rhode Island’s last Yankee New England divisional championship came in 1995, which is likely before half of its roster was even born.
Imagine what’s going to happen if Kansas actually wins a Big 12 game this year.
