SEC Championship Game without alcohol? Fans react to lack of alcohol sales in Atlanta

SEC Championship Game action in Atlanta is just about to get rolling between Georgia and Alabama, two of the best teams in the country this season. As usual, the game will be played in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, but fans located in general admission were in for a rude awakening upon arrival.

After arriving at the stadium, one fan spotted a sign informing fans that alcohol would not be served to general admission on Saturday. Another fan confirmed that news with a picture of beer and alcohol coolers with a lock wrapped around the doors.

Regardless of the reasons behind the move, fans were not particularly thrilled at the idea of watching the game without their favorite alcoholic beverages. One person noted a sign for $2 beer being sold at the Sun Belt Championship Game, while another individual referenced a location in Iowa giving away free beer as a part of Iowa’s trip to the B1G title game vs. Michigan.
