As coaching futures across the SEC are bandied about at the midpoint in the season, salaries are among the most talked about issues, especially when wins are difficult to come by.

That information is more clear because USATODAY released updated salary information for SEC coaches.

So which SEC coach is getting paid the most per win this season?

Arkansas’ Bret Bielema, Florida’s Jim McElwain and Tennessee’s Butch Jones all have work to do to get their teams at and above .500.

Given that all three of those coaches make more than $4 million per season, they’re on track to be paid about $1 million per win, unless they go on a win streak down the stretch. After all, Arkansas is 2-5, Florida is 3-3 and Tennessee is 3-4. McElwain has the highest buyout ($12.9 million) of that group, while Bielema’s is the lowest at $5.9 million.

Missouri’s Barry Odom is also coaching an expensive season based on his $2.35 million salary and the Tigers’ current 2-5 record. His buyout is just $1.5 million.

One coach who has resurrected his season after a dismal start is Texas A&M’s Kevin Sumlin, who is up to 5-2, which at least is getting things pointed in the right direction given his $5 million, and perhaps more importantly to fans, his $10 million buyout.
