Mississippi State had a banner opening weekend last week against LSU, and that includes its offensive line play.

But there was plenty of love to go around, and that’s what SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic shared in his latest rankings of SEC offensive lines.

Interestingly, Cubelic pegged Mississippi State at No. 1 even though the Bulldogs paved the way for just nine rushing yards. Of course, the 623 passing yards were more than enough.

Alabama was a bit more balanced in its win at Missouri with 111 rushing yards and three touchdowns, coupled with 303 passing yards.

Florida’s offensive line at No. 3 was anchored by center Brent Heggie, who earned an SEC Player of the Week honor earlier this week.

Heggie graded out as the top offensive lineman for the Gators in their 51-35 win at Ole Miss on Saturday, and helped Florida gain 642 total yards (446 passing and 196 rushing), which is a school record for yards against an SEC opponent.

Heggie helped provide protection for Kyle Trask who threw for 416 yards and six touchdowns, completing 30-of-42 passes with no turnovers.

Cubelic will be part of the broadcasting crew on hand for the LSU-Vanderbilt game this week in Nashville.
