The SEC had a very eventful and exciting Rivalry Week, starting on Thanksgiving with the Egg Bowl and ending on Saturday with a handful of games, including a wild Iron Bowl.
Every Sunday morning, SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic takes to Twitter to break down what happened.
This week, with all 14 teams in action, he had a busy morning breaking down all the action. Here’s what he had to say about each team following the final weekend of the regular season:
ARKANSAS:
Probably good that this chapter is now closed. The QB’s went 11 of 31. Thought some of the front 7 gave good effort. It’s impossible to be dialed in after a coaching change. Some young skill to work with. Next guy needs to be able to get more out them. Can’t get worse.— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) December 1, 2019
FLORIDA:
Woooo that DL was something else. Could not be contained. Trask continues to make great decisions. Jones looked good after him. Will be a nice between those two next year. Back to back 10 win seasons & a nice bowl coming. 10-2 with two losses to top 4 teams is remarkable— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) December 1, 2019
KENTUCKY:
The job Eddie Gran & Stoops have done this season needs more attention. Lynn Bowden is a legit CFB MVP candidate. They ran 44 plays & won by 32 points! The OL has been great but the truly amazing part is watching how the RBs & WRs have bought in to the switch. Solid yr— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) December 1, 2019
MISSISSIPPI:
Disappointing. Put yourself in a spot yo finish strong with a truck load of momentum heading into next season. Have to know better. Premeditated stupidity cost them. I hope it can be a learning moment. Didn’t like Plumlee on bench late but dis miss a few open WRs— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) December 1, 2019
MISSOURI:
Not on board with firing Barry Odom. Distractions were present during the majority of his tenure & he had a locker room that stayed loyal. Kids played hard. He knows the program better than anyone they are bringing in. Was at least able to go out with a win. Good luck— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) December 1, 2019
TENNESSEE:
Remarkable turnaround. Best in season this fall in all of CFB. The OL was dominant again & kept the load off of the QB. Eric Grey looked amazing. That’s the offense we thought we were getting. Veterans deserve a lot of credit for the 7-5 finish. Core now set for future— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) December 1, 2019
VANDERBILT:
Let down of a season. Adjustments have to made in the offseason. Thought the leadership on offense let the guys down. Vaughn getting dinged early hurt. Could not find consistency & youth caught up on defense. Heck of a career for the big 3. Production will be missed.— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) December 1, 2019
Some teams have some major question marks, while others are entering 2020 with some major momentum. Stay tuned through bowl season to see which teams continue an upward trend.
