As fantasy football season approaches, many shows are embracing the fantasy draft style of ranking players.

Recently, SEC Network analysts Marcus Spears and Greg McElroy did a fantasy draft of SEC quarterbacks, ranking the players by where they’d take them in a college fantasy league.

As you can see below, Spears made Ole Miss QB Jordan Ta’amu the No. 1 overall pick, due in large part to the Rebels’ receiving corps:

  • No. 1 — Jordan Ta’amu, Ole Miss — Spears
  • No. 2 — Nick Fitzgerald, Mississippi State — McElroy
  • No. 3 — Drew Lock, Mizzou — McElroy
  • No. 4 — Jarrett Stidham, Auburn — Spears
  • No. 5 — Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama — Spears
  • No. 6 — Jake Bentley, South Carolina — McElroy
  • No. 7 — Jake Fromm, Georgia — McElroy
  • No. 8 — Jalen Hurts, Alabama — Spears

McElroy picked Fitzgerald No. 2 due to his prowess in the running game, and Spears finished with Hurts based largely on potential.

Just based on the list above, it’s clear how loaded the SEC is at the quarterback position. Check out the full segment here.
