Saturday’s matchup between LSU and Ole Miss will have plenty of implications.

With Ole Miss losing to Alabama last week, the Rebels need a win to stay in the race for an SEC Championship. LSU is looking to stay perfect after the early loss to Florida State.

SEC Network analysts Alyssa Lang and Chris Doering broke down the full implications of the game on Thursday.

“For LSU, if they want to continue to prove that their the dominant team in the SEC West, they’ve got to get this win over Ole Miss,” Lang said. “If Ole Miss wants to stay in the SEC West chase at all, they’ve got to get a win over LSU.”

Doering was on the same page as Lang and believes that the loser of this game will almost definitely miss out on the SEC Championship.

“It’s an effective ‘lose leave town’ kind of feel to it,” Doering said. “I think for Ole Miss, if you lose this game you’ve got 2 losses in the west, you’re done and your hopes of getting to the SEC Championship game for the first time in your program’s history.”
