During SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey’s opening press conference, he announced a new Monday night show that may be of some interest to fans.
Former SEC standouts Marcus Spears and Greg McElroy will host a weekly football talk show named Thinking Out Loud starting September 4. The show will air Mondays at 7:00 p.m. ET. It’s described as a “fast-paced, in-depth analysis and debate.”
“If you are a fan of SEC football, the weekend doesn’t end on Saturday. We are fortunate to have two of the best minds in college football collaborating on this new venture. Going into their fourth year on the network, we decided to switch things up and let them host their own show. If fans are talking or tweeting about it, they will most likely see it on Thinking Out Loud,” said Peter Watters, SEC Network coordinating producer.
McElroy and Spears will also invite fans to participate via social media.
“Our goal on Thinking Out Loud will be to break down the weekend’s biggest plays and highlights solely from a player’s perspective. With Marcus’ personality and our appreciation for the Xs and Os, it will make for a fun destination for football fans,” McElroy said.
Spears added, “I’m excited to have Greg as my ace on screen; his knowledge is unquestioned as is his ability to break down the game. I hope fans know that Thinking Out Loud will be a fun way to talk with them about the game we love.”
