CBS announces initial schedule of 'SEC on CBS' games for the 2020 season
We’ve got some television news to share from CBS as the network has just announced the initial set of games selected to be featured on the “SEC on CBS” package for the coming fall season.
CBS has yet to select every “SEC on CBS” game but the network has selected the matchups for the first two weeks of the season and four other weeks.
Here are the games that CBS has currently selected to be featured by the “SEC on CBS” package:
Week 1: Sept. 26 – Mississippi State at LSU, 3:30 pm ET / 2:30 pm CT
Week 2: Oct. 3 – Texas A&M at Alabama, 3:30 pm ET / 2:30 pm CT
Week 4: Oct. 17 – Georgia at Alabama, 8 pm ET / 7 pm CT
Week 5: Oct. 31 – LSU at Auburn, 3:30 pm ET / 2:30 pm CT
Week 6: Nov. 7 – Florida vs. Georgia (Jacksonville), 3:30 pm ET / 2:30 pm CT
Week 7: Nov. 14 – Alabama at LSU, 6 pm ET / 5 pm CT
The CBS broadcast team returns intact this fall as Brad Nessler and Gary Danielson are in the booth with sideline reporter Jamie Erdahl providing updates from the field. Gene Steratore will again serve as the rules analyst for CBS.
Why not Auburn/UK week 1??
I agree
I think from a national standpoint, the Miss St. vs. LSU game looks sexier. Mike Leach vs. Coach O and the defending champs sounds like good TV. For most hardcore SEC fans, the Auburn/UK game is more intriguing though.
Are they not limited to one team 3 times Max.
Kentucky at Auburn would be better game week 1.
Primetime under the lights against Saban & Co. Has an over/under been released yet?
Game is far bigger for Bama,, Dawgs could lose still get a rematch,,,, Statement game early
But Bama couldn’t lose and still get a rematch? Given the 2017 Natty and 2018 SECCG, I think it might be bigger for UGA
UK/AU should be Week 1 but I understand it because of LSU being defending national champs. Week 2 should be AU/UGA IMO. I expect there to be a double headere in Week 4 with LSU/UF being the early game. Could see a 2-0 TN vs a 2-0 UGA in Week 3.
LSU/AU is week 6, UF/UGA is week 7 and LSU/Bama is week 8.
Agree.
The Week 1 game is confusing, but seeing this schedule release is just one step closer to college football, and that’s a beautiful thing.
What he said.
Looks like LSU and Alabama are getting the most love from CBS for the first seven weeks. Can’t argue with any of the telecasts, although you can certainly make a case for alternates for many of the games. With CBS, ABC, ESPN and SEC Network, pretty much all the games should be on TV.
I prefer that LSU play night games, but I’m just happy we are going to have football.
The MSU V LSU game has gotten a lot more interesting with the two recent opt outs. I think that leaves 6 returning starters from last years team if I remember correctly. LSU has loads of talent but the experience just isn’t there yet and that could pay dividends for the crazy pirate. I have to agree the Auburn/UK game is most deserving but it will be on some other channel as well. Lets just make it there.
I agree that Auburn-UK is more likely to be competitive. But LSU-MSU is definitely intriguing.
Why couldn’t Danielson opt out?? They could improve the telecasts by replacing him with ANYONE – even Dr. Ruth!
Thought for sure Carolina vs Georgia would have made the cut. That’s usually a barn burner.
That week hasn’t been determined yet.. and I highly doubt it will be that game with the Iron Bowl that week. A&M/LSU is also a better option.
