SEC officials in football and basketball have received a lot of criticism this year, some of it for good reason.

On Tuesday in Gainesville, the officials working the game between Florida and Arkansas made an egregious mistake in assessing the Gators a technical foul.

Florida was huddling on the court when Arkansas’s Adrio Bailey neared the players and listened in on what they were saying. Bailey was then lightly shoved away and delivered an Oscar-worthy flop:

That flop drew a technical foul, which is utterly ridiculous. The SEC office might want to review that call this week.

This year, teams can be assessed fouls for flopping, which is probably what should have happened to Bailey here.
