For nearly 12 hours every Saturday, SEC fans can plop themselves on their couches and tune into football games all day. No one wants to waste their time watching a boring game, though, so we ranked all six games that SEC teams are playing in this weekend based on entertainment value (Arkansas, Missouri, South Carolina and Tennessee have byes this week). These rankings are subjective, but factor in league impact, how exciting and how close the games will be. Games are ranked on a 1-5 Georgia Dome scale (the site of the SEC Championship Game), with 5 being the most watchable game and 1 being the least. Note: all rankings are from the College Football Playoff committee.

5 GEORGIA DOMES

No. 5 Alabama at No. 16 LSU (8 p.m. ET, CBS): One of the best rivalries in the SEC is back, and it falls right in primetime. The Tigers and Crimson Tide are both built to engage in the hard-hitting, old-school football warfare we’re used to from this team. With the weirdness that comes with a night game in Death Valley, this game should be an absolute joy to watch.

4 GEORGIA DOMES

None this week.

3 GEORGIA DOMES

– No. 20 Georgia at Kentucky (12 p.m. ET, ESPN): Both teams are rebounding from losses, although Georgia’s was far more devastating as it dropped them out of College Football Playoff contention. Kentucky, despite three straight losses, have shown they can hang with superior teams, as they did against Mississippi State.

Texas A&M at No. 3 Auburn (3:30 p.m., CBS): While the past meetings in this matchup have had plenty of entertainment value, this one could have more of a train wreck factor. Texas A&M is capable of putting up big offensive numbers, but that side of the ball has been a mess for more than a month. Meanwhile Auburn is hitting its stride at the right time yet again. This has shootout potential, but it’s just as likely to be a blowout.

2 GEORGIA DOMES

– Florida at Vanderbilt (7:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network): Once again, the train wreck factor is high here. Florida is coming off their huge upset of Georgia, but they did lose to Vanderbilt last year. A second consecutive loss could cost Will Muschamp his job. This is probably the last decent chance for Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason to get his first SEC win this season.

1 GEORGIA DOME

Presbyterian at No. 11 Ole Miss (12 p.m. ET, SEC Network): Following two straight losses and the loss of their best receiver, the Rebels get a week to lick their wounds against FCS opponent Presbyterian. A nice respite for a limping team.

– UT-Martin at No. 1 Mississippi State (4 p.m. ET, SEC Network): Mississippi State is in a lot better shape than their neighbors to the north, but they do have some issues on offense and defense to clean up. They’ll be able to work those out against the Skyhawks, another SEC team.
