With tons of SEC action every Saturday, there are always going to be plenty of highlight reel plays. Week 13 featured several dramatic finishes and some impressive offensive performances. Of course, there are also those plays that are better off forgotten. Here at Saturday Down South, we don’t forget. Let’s run down the worst of the week that was.

5. Arkansas forgets its offensive line

It’s unclear what Bret Bielema wanted to accomplish by having Arkansas’ offensive line get set out wide. Whatever he was trying, it didn’t fool Ole Miss. The Rebels basically had a free shot at Brandon Allen, who miraculously escaped for a short gain and a first down.

4. Missouri misses two extra points

The Tigers picked up a huge road win and moved within one win of locking up their second consecutive SEC East crown, but it was not a good night for Andrew Baggett. The junior missed two PATs, which would have been costly if Tennessee had been able to recover a late onside kick.

3. Referee acts as an extra blocker for Samford

FCS schools need all the help they can get going against the big boys of the SEC. That usually doesn’t include having an extra man on the field, though. This ref set a pretty good pick on a crossing route, helping the Samford receiver pick up a first down. SEC refs just can’t stay out of the way this season.

2. Tennessee players lose the use of their extremeties

The Volunteers came pretty close to pulling out a victory against Missouri, but they seemed to forget how to football in a couple of instance. Joshua Dobbs and Evan Berry both took themselves out, while Josh Malone  took his eyes off the ball and cost his team a possession. These aren’t the mistakes of a young team, just plain goof-ups.

1. Slippage in Arkansas

Ole Miss backup quarterback DeVante Kincade was trying to spark the Rebels against Arkansas, but he forgot one thing while dropping back to throw in the rain: the ball. Arkansas somehow didn’t get the touchdown here and ended up kicking a field goal.
