Using each player’s 247Sports Composite rating, here’s how the SEC’s top pro-style quarterback commits stack up and where they stand nationally against other standouts at the same position:

1. MISSOURI: Drew Lock, 6-5, 195, Lee’s Summit, Mo., Four-Star (4): Lock is the top-ranked player in the state of Missouri and the No. 124 overall prospect. The 6-5, 195-pound quarterback has the size and arm strength to excel at the next level, but must improve on his delivery and reactive quickness.

2. TENNESSEE: Quinten Dormady, 6-4, 210, Boerne, Texas, Four-Star (5): Dormady has the size and intangibles to succeed in the Tennessee’s uptempo offense. He also has a strong pocket presence, arm strength and accuracy to excel in the SEC.

3. ARKANSAS: Ty Storey, 6-3, 216, Charleston, Ark., Four-Star (7)

4. AUBURN: Tyler Queen, 6-2, 229, Kennesaw, Ga., Three-Star (12): Despite his label as a pro-style quarterback, Queen is an excellent fit in Gus Malzahn’s uptempo offense. Queen has the reactive quickness and high intangibles to provide a dual-threat option for Auburn.

5. MISSISSIPPI STATE: Chason Virgil, 6-2, 170, Mesquite, Texas, Three-Star (15)

6. VANDERBILT: Kyle Shurmur, 6-4, 215, Glenside, Pa., Three-Star (17): Vanderbilt is the only SEC team to start all four quarterbacks this season, including true freshman Wade Freebeck. That’s excellent news for Kyle Shurmur, who joins the Commodores next season. Shurmur’s best assets are his size and intangibles, but must improve on his reactive quickness.

7. MISSISSIPPI STATE: Nick Tiano, 6-5, 230, Chattanooga, Tenn., Three-Star (48)
