Just like his dad, Shedeur Sanders will play his college football in the state of Florida.

On Monday evening, Sanders announced he will play his college football at FAU for Willie Taggart. If you were unaware, Sanders is the son of NFL Hall of Famer and former Florida State standout, Deion Sanders.

This news is big for the FAU program as the 6-foot-1, 198-pound Sanders is rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 14 pro-style passer in the country for the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Sanders plays for Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill, Texas.

During his recruitment, Sanders received scholarship offers from the likes of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina (where his brother plays), Tennessee, Vanderbilt and even his father’s alma mater, Florida State.

While some may assume Sanders’ rating is based in part on his father’s accolades on the field, it’s worth noting that the quarterback has already led Trinity Christian School to three Texas state titles during his incredible run at the school.

He’s also thrown for 8,796 yards, 123 touchdowns with only 19 interceptions in his three high school seasons on the gridiron. Regardless of who his father is, those are impressive stats for any high school signal-caller.
