Simulated BCS standings reveal first crack at College Football Playoff rankings

Simulated BCS standings are out, and the formula has a familiar team at the top.
Georgia starts at No. 1, with a pair of Big Ten teams close behind in Michigan and Ohio State. Florida State rounds out the top 4, with Oklahoma and Penn State on the outside looking in. The BCS hasn’t been in use in 9 seasons, but this is an interesting look at the computer model at hand.
The top 4 mirrors the AP Top 25 poll out this week following Texas’ loss to Oklahoma.
Penn State is in position to jumble the Big Ten race and Playoff contenders, as the Nittany Lions have Ohio State next week, and Rece Davis has the Buckeyes on upset alert in Columbus.
Another team to watch is Washington and new Heisman Trophy frontrunner in QB Michael Penix Jr. The Huskies face their biggest test yet this week against Oregon with plenty at stake, and College GameDay in town.
Hello! We’re back. The first simulated #BCS rankings of the 2023 season are here!

Interestingly enough, the 4 models have a different team at No. 1. However, Ohio State is the most consistent across them.
