Some interesting names with SEC ties listed among odds to be Ohio State's next coach if Urban Meyer is fired
Urban Meyer has dominated the news on Wednesday and there appears to be no end in sight to the speculation until Ohio State releases some form of statement regarding the status of the Buckeye coach.
If you missed the day’s biggest topic, college football insider Brett McMurphy has exposed Meyer as a liar following the coach’s appearance at the latest Big Ten Media Days. In an explosive report from McMurphy, the ex-wife of Meyer’s former assistant, Zach Smith, provides evidence that Meyer was aware of the domestic violence going on at the Smith home over the years.

Mark Stoops at Kentucky. Great recruiting ties to northern Ohio. Undefeated against the Mid American Conference. A native of the state. PLEASE take him and heck, our athletic director too.PLEASE!
I knew it wouldn’t take long for something like this to come out. I looked around the sports world to see how this was being covered. ESPN was the biggest surprise. Virtually nothing from them, and the same with Sporting News. Still protecting their favorites. The Ohio State fan sites are even worse. Sports should never be so important as to support this type of behavior.
The Midwest loves to ridicule the SEC for it’s perceived win-at-all-costs reputation, but some of the biggest scandals to come out of FBS in recent years have been at their self-proclaimed bastions of integrity: Penn State, Notre Dame, and now Ohio State – for the second time. If you live in a glass house . . .
You nailed it Mountain Dog.
No doubt.
I agree with you.
Promote Greg Schiano to HC. OSU fans were raving about him last season and said the TN fan base were idiots for not wanting him.
You nailed it Mountain Dog
Yup good point but les miles would be fun there!
Funny how the narrative can shift that quickly . . .
There are some strange names on that list. Jim Grobe? Houston Nutt?
You also missed another SEC tie: Alex Grinch. He was the safeties coach at Mizzou while they were in the SEC.
Jim Tressel . . .
I’m pretty sure they would let Day finish the year while searching. If Miss State has as good as of a year as Ogara believes, my money would be on Joe Moorehead.
