After firing Jay Hopson early in the season, and having two interim head coaches this season, Southern Miss has announced its 22nd head football coach in program history.

Former Tulane offensive coordinator Will Hall will be the next man in charge in Hattiesburg.

The Southern Miss job will be Hall’s third head coaching opportunity.

In two Division II stints with West Alabama and West Georgia, Hall compiled a 56-20 record and won three Gulf South Conference titles. The Armory, Mississippi native played quarterback at Northwest Mississippi Community College and North Alabama.

Southern Miss put out a hype video to welcome its new football coach.

The Golden Eagles have struggled in 2020 at 2-7. Head coach Jay Hopson resigned after the first game of the season.
