Freshman DT Shy Tuttle of Tennessee is out for the season with a fractured fibula and torn ankle ligament suffered in Saturday’s game with Georgia, Vols coach Butch Jones announced at his Tuesday news conference.

“Shy Tuttle has a broken fibula and a ligament (tear) and an ankle injury,” Jones said. “He will be out for the season. (I) love Shy and the way he has developed … That is a big, big blow to our football team.”

The Vols have a bye week before playing Alabama on Oct. 24.
