Top Alabama, LSU WR target delays commitment announcement
Two SEC West rivals will have to wait to find out if either lands the talents of four-star WR Devonta Smith.
The Amite (La.) standout has delayed his previous commitment announcement due to flooding in the state of Louisiana.

Smith announced in late July that Alabama, LSU and Miami were the final three schools in the running to land his commitment. Of the 29 recruiting experts who have submitted predictions to 247Sports’ Crystal Ball, 100 percent have Smith signing with Alabama. The 6-foot-1, 160-pound pass-catcher is rated the No. 10 Louisiana prospect and No. 2 wide receiver in the 2017 class according to the site’s composite rankings.
