Rocky Road: It doesn’t get any easier this week for South Carolina. which is 0-3 on the road this season and has to travel 1,039 miles for Saturday’s game in College Station. The Gamecocks cap their road slate with a 264-mile trek to Tennessee next week.
Commodores on Tour: As if this week’s 779-mile trip to face unbeaten and 18th-ranked Houston wasn’t bad enough for Vanderbilt. The Commodores still have to go 577 miles to Gainesville to take on Florida next week before visiting Tennessee (181 miles) for their regular-season finale on Nov. 28.
Rebels With a Cause: Ole Miss, which has suffered both of its losses on the road, has a 295-mile trip to Auburn this week. Mississippi’s regular season and road finale is on Nov. 28, when it heads 97 miles to Starkville for its annual Egg Bowl battle with Mississippi State.
Low Vol-ume Travel: Tennessee, which fell short at Alabama last week, hits the road again for a 170-mile jaunt to Lexington on Saturday. The Volunteers’ lone remaining road game is at Missouri (606 miles away) on Nov. 21.
Notes: Though it will be played in Jacksonville on Saturday, Florida’s annual matchup with Georgia is considered a neutral-site game. Distances were compiled using Google Maps.
