Following the most stunning first-round upset in the history of the NCAA Tournament, UMBC is making sure it takes full advantage of its epic performance over Virginia.

If you somehow missed the game, UMBC became the first #16 seed to defeat a #1 seed in NCAA Tournament history Friday night. Not only was Virginia a #1 seed, the Cavaliers were the top overall seed in the 2018 NCAA Tournament — which only added to the absurdity of the upset.

Known as the Retrievers, the school released it had not officially registered the trademark for the name until after the upset. According to ESPN, the school has moved quickly to trademark “Retrievers,” “Retrievers Nation,” and “16 over 1” following Friday night’s game. ESPN also added that UMBC’s online store has been sold out of items for two days following the Virginia win.

The school will attempt to continue the dream run Sunday evening against Kansas State. That game tips off at 7:45 p.m. ET.
