Video: Nebraska honors dead punter in a way that will give you chills
In July, Nebraska punter Sam Foltz — whilst attending a punting camp — was killed in a car accident. It was an event that completely shook up the football team and the community of Lincoln.
During Saturday’s season-opening contest between Nebraska and Fresno St., the Cornhuskers offered a very touching tribute to their deceased punter.
We'll always remember #SF27.
Well done, @HuskerFBNation & HUskers fans.
Great class, @FresnoStateFB. https://t.co/moG174xLP5

Nebraska was faced with a fourth-down situation. The Cornhuskers sent 10 players out on the field — with no punter in place for the punt. Mike Riley’s team took a delay of game penalty — which was then classily declined by the Bulldogs.
Credit both Nebraska and Fresno St. for this incredibly special moment.

Simply an awesome moment. Much respect to all involved.
Wow. Another reason sports are so great. Respect everyone involved with this.
Classy !!
Amazing. Such a great moment to see. I love watching Nebraska’s tributes. Does anyone remember the little boy in the spring game? Always making people tear up.
Nebraska’s Missing Man formation is awesome.
That was nice to see. Even the Fresno State players were clapping on the field. Tragedy touches everyone. Good job, Nebraska.
This was fantastic.
Great stuff!!!
Classy from Fresno State. Better than when the classless Buffalo Bills ran a running play around the edge when the Redskins had 10 men on the field in tribute to the late Sean Taylor…
Such a great moment. I absolutely subtle things like this. It’s amazing to be there in person
