Video: Tennessee player stomps on helmet of Georgia linebacker
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a player stomp an opponent during an SEC game and certainly won’t be the last.
Midway through the first quarter of Saturday’s Georgia-Tennessee matchup in Knoxville, a Tennessee player appears to stomp on the helmet of Georgia linebacker Chuks Amaechi under a pile following a kickoff return.
The player in question with his cleat on Amaechi’s headgear appears to be Tennessee freshman special teamer John Kelly. Amaechi grabbed the bottom of Kelly’s jersey and yanked, prompting the stomp:

No penalty was called on the play, but it’s standard procedure for the league office to review all film after games.
At first, I was a little upset for our player to do something like this.. Watched it again to realize the UGA player had what appears to be a “handful”. Can’t say I’d react any differently.
I didnt notice that till you said it. Sorry but if someones got ahold of my junk and it ain’t a pretty she then imma do whatever i can to make em let go
Might wanna do a triple take, he’s not grabbing his junk, that’s clearly his jersey
Forget the triple take, maybe you should invest in HD. I was also upset with the TN player until I read Cardinals post and re-watched the play. It was clearly not the jersey and I can’t say I blame him.
You must be a little confused if you think his junk is actually his jersey! Haha!
He clearly is only holding the jersey. Watch how the number is stretched.
Yes he is holding the jersey. You can see the jersey snap back at the very end of the video. However he was pulling it down, and the GA player’s hand was between the TN players legs, not in a good place. I would say that is a pretty natural reaction when someone has their hands between your legs and is not letting go. Goes to show it is very likely the players actions are eventually shown on camera.
He’s clearly grabbing this guy’s junk trying to hurt him. Unless he plays for Michael Sam’s team.
Which came first, chicken or the egg? I still can’t tell whether there was grabbing or stomping first? Is this like 2 penalties nullifying each other? haha
you mean two penalties nutifying each other
hey guy watch the jersey fly up as soon as our player lets go, clearly wasn’t a “handful”
It’s very clear the Georgia guy was grabbing/squeezing the UT guys crotch. Get over it UGA fans…..you lost and your season is toast.
Lol! BRO, let go my junk! *stump stump*
It was funny seeing number six just get up and superman into the pile too.
Change your headline, he’s just trying to get up but UGA play is ‘holdin on’. Officials don’t flag that in a pile or you would have a buttload of offsetting penalties every game with whichever team that happens to have more players in the pile getting hammered. Stupid post.
LOL. Yeah, I was about to be all upset and call for a suspension when I first heard this, then I watched the replay and saw why. I’d have stepped on that hat, too.
Headline should have read ” Georgia player sexually assaults Tennessee player, gets stomped as result”
Since when is grabbing a jersey sexual assult? Get your eyes checked.
and by jersey i suppose you mean balls
You need to have yours checked, clearly had a hand full..
Reading the headline, I’m envisioning a Miss St Dillon Day stomp (trash at it’s worse). After looking at the video, he should have been stomped, next time I bet he won’t grab any more jerseys. The flag should be thrown on SDS for click baiting, c’mon SDS, I know you’re not real journalism, but try and act like.
And there it is.
Lol
Wonder why the headline was not Georgia player grabs a handfull and gets a face full? Pretty funny I think. All the Georgia fans upset, and I was too until I seen the video. typical media one sided story but not to tell the whole truth. Does Michael Sam play for Georgia now?
Once doesn’t mean anything. You have to stomp the other team twice to let then know you mean business.
(For the reb fans like above who like to throw stones in glass houses and think its OK for their guys to take cheap shots after a play is dead).
According to them it’s only a problem when other teams do it.
He had the jersey nothing more haha that doesn’t justify the stomp anyone who thinks it does is a mental patient he could’ve hurt him seriously
Since when does jerseys hang down around the crotch. You can clearly see him grab his junk. Let someone grab your junk and let’s see how you react. You obviously haven’t played that much football, when I played when there was a pile up you covered your nuts. Dirty things happen at the bottom of the pile.
It really doesn’t look intentional to me. When he was taking a step, he wasn’t even looking down. Plus, the hand between his legs obviously stopped him from taking a full step
the title should be changed to, UGA Player Grabs Vols Player by the Balls and gets a Swift Well Deserved Head Stomp
if you don’t want stomped, hit, punched, gouges, bit, poked, jabbed, mocked, hurt, bruised, fought, slapped, ripped, pulled, etc. then play basketball. this is football. uga acts like it’s a 100% clean team that has never stomped anybody’s head. shut up already.
The UGA player was holding at least the jersey, and in a bad place. It also looks like the UT player’s leg was caught up in the pile as well. I think the so-called stomp was in order and may have just been due to being off-balance getting out of the pile. Someone was still grabbing his leg as he tried to get out.
However, the flying UGA #5 should have been penalized as the play was totally over when he piled on.
Clickbait sh*t site. No one stomped on anyone.
Its not the site… its Brad Crawford… He is a Click Who*e… who will do anything to get a hit, Brad Crawford doesn’t let facts get in the way of the truth…
