WATCH: CFB mascot rushes field, gets flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct penalty
Facing Bethune-Cookman in the season-opening MEAC/SWAC Challenge at Georgia State Stadium in Atlanta, former Florida Gators QB commit Jalon Jones found receiver Warren Newman for a 33-yard touchdown to give Jackson State a 15-7 lead midway through the third quarter.
A great, diving grab, the excitement from this play proved to be too much to handle for the Tigers’ mascot, Wavee Dave.
Entering the field of play, Wavee Dave’s actions drew a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Jackson State.

Even though the touchdown stood and the penalty was enforced on the kickoff, Jackson State head coach John Hendrick certainly couldn’t be happy about the actions of his school’s beloved mascot.
