The West Virginia Mountaineers made a solid hire this week, snagging Troy coach Neal Brown to replace Dana Holgorsen.

However, it won’t be easy for Brown to leave Troy, a program he has brought to new highs during his tenure as head coach.

On Saturday, during Troy’s basketball game, Brown took the court to say a heartfelt and emotional goodbye to the fans that have supported him over the past few years:

Holgorsen is leaving to take the Houston job, so Brown will get his first Power 5 head coaching gig with the Mountaineers.

Brown was the Kentucky offensive coordinator in 2013 and 2014. He went 35-16 during his time at Troy.
