Week 9 opening lines released
The Week 9 opening lines have just been released via Las Vegas-based Circa Sports.
Alabama will face Arkansas riding an 11-game winning streak into the annual series of West opponents as the last time the Razorbacks beat the Crimson Tide was back in 2006.
Auburn and LSU will face off in Death Valley with the Tigers from The Plains searching for their first win in Tiger Stadium since 1999. LSU has won two in a row in this series with those two matchups being decided by a combined five points.
Kentucky holds a 6-3 all-time edge over Missouri and leads the series 4-3 since the Tigers joined the SEC.
South Carolina has beaten Tennessee three years in a row but has only won three times in Neyland Stadium after playing Tennessee 37 times. The Volunteers beat the Gamecocks three years in a row before South Carolina’s current streak.
Mississippi State leads the Texas A&M series at 7-5 all-time and 4-3 since the Aggies joined the SEC.
Here are the lines Circa Sports have just posted:
I’m hoping LSU is more focused at home against Auburn than they were on the road against MSU. They will need to be.
LSU’s run defense is 2nd in the SEC and is quite a bit better than Florida’s run defense. Auburn has recorded 20 sacks to LSU’s 17. I think Bo Nix will have to beat Joe Burrow, in Death Valley. Good luck with that.
Barring an injury to Burrow I don’t see LSU being beaten this year. It would have been a toss-up with a heathy Tua, but now… I don’t see Bama’s D stopping LSU, and our backup QB is unproven at best.
I think Tua will play against LSU, even if he is not 100%. He will still give Bama its best chance to win.
How in the world is the line against auburn closer than against Florida..
LSU 31 Auburn 24
Auburn will try to control the ball and waste time and shorten the game. Burrow and O will have big plays but Auburn D will do something nobody has been able to do and pressure Burrow. LSU will be even better from yet another big game. Nix will play better than he did against UF but Death Valley and LSU are too much for Auburn.
That’s a statistically-sound argument.
35 is too big with Tua out of commission. Take Arkansas to cover. Do it now before the line comes down.
/puts life savings on Kentucky +11
No way, with Mac, Bama wins by 35
I think Mac plays better with week of practice getting starter reps. He had a great spring game, so he is capable. He just needs to settle in. I think Bama runs the ball effectively and that will help our D. If we control the ball by running the ball and don’t ask Mac to be Tua then I could see a 35-7 type game. Bama has long 10 play 4 min drives and this game ends quick due to the wasting of the clock by Bama. Roll Tide
I think that running to control the clock should be Bama’s strategy without Tua. 35-7 still wouldn’t cover that spread though.
11 seems a bit high for Missouri based on this weeks performance.
Agreed. Mizzou appears to play much better at home.
