WILL MUSCHAMP on Florida’s biggest win in two seasons, a 38-20 victory over Georgia that cooled his hot seat and damaged the Bulldogs’ Playoff chances: “I’m just extremely proud of our football team and how they came out and performed. A little loss of words at our last time out as far as how we played against Missouri. It’s very disappointing. It’s about ball security, taking care of the ball, doing the base fundamental things that we talk about in our program all the time — you know, a lot of negativity and all of that, which is part of it, I’m not complaining about it—but for the guys to pull together against a good football team, a top-10 football team, to come together and understand what’s at stake and as far as our season’s concerned, as far as three-in-a-row, as far as sending our seniors out the right way, all of the things that are really critical and really important about this rivalry and our guys understood it.”

A quick comment from STEVE SPURRIER who promptly walked away from the podium and didn’t take questions after a loss to Tennessee: “We couldn’t hold the lead, as we all saw. Just not good enough. Not good enough to hold the lead. Not coached well enough as a team. Did a lousy job of maximizing what we think we got here. Can score a few points but find a way to lose. It’s a tough one. Going to take a while to get this one out of your system. We’ve had about three or four of these this year. Should be getting used to it by now. I have a tough time getting used to these kinds of things. Lot of guys played well. Couldn’t hold the lead there. I don’t need to take any questions. You guys watched it. I just need to get out of here for a while.”

BUTCH JONES after his Vols never quit despite being down double-digits during a comeback win in Columbia, S.C.: “Our resiliency was rewarded tonight. Being down 14 with four or five minutes to go, there was never a doubt that we were going to win this football games. Every person on that sideline believed we were going to win the football game.”

GUS MALZAHN whose Auburn team is very much alive in the Playoff picture and SEC West race: “Obviously that is a really big win for us. Ole Miss is one of the top teams in the country. To get a win here is a great effort by our players. Our defense gave up some yards, but they came up with two turnovers and had three stops, I believe, at the end. On offense we made some plays in the passing games.”

DAN MULLEN after Mississippi State avoided the upset against Arkansas in a hard-fought seven-point victory: “What a football game. Great battle against two very good football teams. As coaches, we all know how hard it is to win in this league. That was a huge win for our team tonight against an excellent Arkansas football team. Fortunately we were able to make one more play there at the end of the game. Our guys are finding ways to win, and that’s all that matters.”

MARK RICHT after his team’s surprising double-digit loss to Florida, a team in turmoil heading into the game with consecutive SEC losses: “Four hundred yards rushing – that’s pretty impressive. That was the story of the game. We couldn’t run it the way we like to, and they did. We got whipped, physically whipped. It was a team loss, and we have to get back to work. It is by far not over. We have a chance to get back in the race for the East.”

An emotional HUGH FREEZE following Mississippi’s late-game loss to Auburn, the second straight heartbreaker for the Rebels: “When you see your young men put so much into preparing for opportunities like we had tonight, you see the hurt that they go through. Whoever lost that game tonight was going to feel that way. It was a great college football game against two really good teams. It doesn’t take away any of the steam that’s in that locker room right now when you felt like you played well enough to win it. It’s disappointing.”
