Where Vegas ranks every SEC football team entering 2018 season
By most rankings, Alabama is the No. 1 team in the country, but the folks in Las Vegas do things a little differently.
On Wednesday, The Action Network released its first College Football Betting Power Ratings, and the rankings look much different than the AP Poll.
As you can see below, Alabama checks in as the No. 3 team (behind Clemson and Ohio State), followed immediately by Auburn. Below, see where each of the 14 SEC teams ranks in Vegas’s eyes:
- No. 3 — Alabama
- No. 4 — Auburn
- No. 8 — Georgia
- No. 11 — Mississippi State
- No. 22 — Florida
- No. 23 — Missouri
- No. 27 — Texas A&M
- No. 35 — LSU
- No. 39 — Ole Miss
- No. 50 — Arkansas
- No. 61 — South Carolina
- No. 66 — Kentucky
- No. 76 — Tennessee
- No. 78 — Vanderbilt
Obviously, these ratings are used mostly for betting purposes, and don’t necessarily indicate any on-field performance.
Still, it’s an interesting look at how Vegas operates and what they think of each team.
The 2018 blue chip ratio is out… We going to see that article soon?
Dude name drops you in his profile description. You know who I’m talking about.
I ignore everything about him…
I actually think these rankings are the most indicative. These handicappers have an intricate “points” ranking system that they use to determine a fair line for a neutral field matchup. Generally when people have money and “bet followers” on the line, I take what they think seriously.
They are just trying to provoke betting. Having SC so low, even below Arkansas, doesn’t seem very credible.
huh never did any sports betting but this is a gimme. soooo to the more experienced people, where do you go to place bets?
