Former South Carolina quarterback Jason Brown has revealed where he will be playing during the 2022 season, and it’s a program that’s close to home.

Brown transferred to the Gamecocks prior to the 2021 campaign from FCS St. Francis. Following injuries to starter Luke Doty prior to the season and later to Zeb Noland, the Fredericksburg, Va. native won his 1st start on Nov. 6 against Florida as he went 14-of-24 for 175 yards and 2 touchdowns. He remained the starter for the remaining 3 games of the season.

With Spencer Rattler transferring in from Oklahoma to be reunited with Shane Beamer, Brown opted to enter the transfer portal and spend his final year of eligibility elsewhere. He announced on his Twitter account on Thursday evening that he had committed to Virginia Tech and 1st-year head coach Brent Pry:

In his only year in Columbia, Brown was 60-of-108 for 721 yards, tossing 8 touchdowns and 6 interceptions through 7 games.

He will join former Marshall signal-caller Grant Wells, who also announced his commitment to the Hokies on Thursday.
