Former South Carolina WR Damiere Byrd is going back to Charlotte. Byrd has signed with the Carolina Panthers, where he began his NFL career in 2015.

After spending his rookie season on the practice squad, he logged time on the active roster the next 3 seasons, making 17 appearances, including 3 starts.

Byrd has bounced around the league in recent years. He spent the past 4 seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears and Atlanta Falcons.

Byrd’s most productive season came in 2020 with the Patriots. He played in 16 games (14 starts), recording 47 catches for 604 yards and a touchdown.

In 2022, Byrd made 14 appearances for the Falcons, starting 4 games. He caught 13 passes for 268 yards and 2 TDs.
