Dante Reno doubled down on his commitment to South Carolina and Gamecock fans on Tuesday.

The future Gamecock QB shared in a video posted to Twitter by “The Spurs Up Show” where he extolled the virtues of the school, and said “being able to get back to the top” is a priority. Reno didn’t miss the opportunity to throw shade at South Carolina’s in-state rival, Clemson, stating “South Carolina it’s the place down there. It’s not Clemson, it’s not any other school, it’s South Carolina.”

The 6-foot-1 and 216-pound QB hails from the Loomis Chaffee School in Massachusetts, where he passed for 2,507 yards and 27 touchdowns. Reno verbally committed to South Carolina last month over offers from 20 other schools including SEC schools Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

It appears as if Reno plans to be an advocate for the Gamecocks, as he shared on social media “The BEST in the great State of SOUTH CAROLINA come home and stay at SOUTH CAROLINA”. The future QB tagged instate recruits Blake Franks, Kam Pringle, Josiah Thompson, and Mazeo Bennett.

Although Reno is classified as the class of 2024, he is excited about the possibility of graduating a year early to join the Gamecocks in 2023, he told The State. “We’re going to talk to coach Satterfield and coach Beamer and see what their thoughts are. It’s definitely an option right now. They have mentioned that. It’s definitely exciting to get there a year earlier, be able to learn the whole offense earlier. Nothing is set in stone right now, but it’s definitely an opportunity.”
