Under Armour’s personal football branding war with Nike promises to be kicked up a notch this season with the company’s latest footwear unveiling.
Some of South Carolina’s players will don the UA ‘Blur Speed’ low-cut cleat this fall, debuting the new addition on the SEC Network when the Gamecocks open the season against Adidas rival Texas A&M on Aug. 28. The breathable white cleat featuring a stylized garnet chrome footplate and garnet stripe on the forefoot will provide a light, almost second-skin feel on gamedays — an ideal choice for skill position players.

This isn’t the first time Under Armour’s incorporated a chrome-look for the Gamecocks.
South Carolina sported a garnet and gray camo line of apparel and ‘Cam Highlight’ cleats in January’s Capital One Bowl, similar to the ‘battle’ style garb it debuted against LSU the previous season. A long-rumored and yet to be revealed garnet chrome helmet could make an appearance later this fall.
