Heading east: South Carolina lands commitment from 4-star QB out of California

The South Carolina Gamecocks have a quarterback in place for the 2018 season in Jake Bentley, but they may have landed their quarterback of the future on Wednesday afternoon.

That’s because 4-star QB Ryan Hilinski announced his commitment to the program, choosing the Gamecocks over Georgia, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Ole Miss and other big-time schools.

Hilinski announced his decision via Twitter, as you can see in the post below:

The California native is a big addition for coach Will Muschamp’s 2019 class, and he sent out his usual “Spurs up!” tweet following the news:

According to the 247Sports composite, Hilinski is the No. 8 pro-style quarterback in the class of 2019 and the No. 37 overall recruit from the state of California.

The Gamecocks now have eight players in their 2019 class, which ranks No. 5 in the SEC and No. 9 nationally, per 247Sports.
