One of the biggest storylines heading into Wednesday’s National Signing Day is the status of five-star lineman Jordan Burch. Will South Carolina hold on and keep the highest-ranked member of the program’s 2020 recruiting class or will Burch flip his commitment and sign with LSU following a recent visit to Baton Rouge after the Tigers won the national championship?

Both fan bases are eagerly awaiting to find out and remain cautiously optimistic about their chances, which makes this recruitment all the more interesting as we inch closer and closer to National Signing Day.

Of course, this isn’t the first time these fans patiently waited for Burch, as the five-star lineman from Columbia headlined ESPN’s Early Signing Period coverage when he committed to South Carolina live on ESPN. While Burch may have committed to play for Will Muschamp back in December, the Hammond School standout never signed with the Gamecocks, leaving the door open for a program like LSU to steal his signature come National Signing Day.

While Burch continues to explore all of his options, South Carolina has played this recruitment as well as possible, penciling the local five-star for an official visit the final recruiting weekend of the 2020 recruiting cycle.

During Burch’s weekend visit to Columbia, South Carolina fans did their part to show how the five-star lineman how wanted he was by chanting his name during the South Carolina-Missouri basketball game.

Will that show of support be enough to keep Burch in South Carolina’s 2020 recruiting class? We’ll know soon enough.
