JuJu McDowell. South Carolina. Florida. Defense optional.

That about sums it up so far for Week 7’s matchup between the Gamecocks and Gators in Columbia. Both teams have already combined for 300 yards and it’s showing no sign of slowing that progress any time soon. The Gamecocks lead Florida 14-13 at the start of the 2nd quarter.

Florida kicked off the scoring with a rush from Trevor Etienne, but South Carolina answered right back with a 7-play touchdown drive of their own.

Then JuJu McDowell found the end zone on this nearly untouched 17-yard scamper for 6 with just a few minutes left in the first quarter. Check it out below:

That was McDowell’s only touch of the first half. We’ll assume that will not stay the same moving forward.

Mario Anderson has also had a strong start on the ground. He’s up to 6 rushes for 51 yards, an average of just over 8 yards per carry.

Buckle up, folks.
