LSU at South Carolina baseball series finale rescheduled, teams will play Friday doubleheader

No. 1 LSU at No. 6 South Carolina is one of the biggest SEC baseball series of the weekend. The Tigers and Gamecocks were set for a Thursday-Saturday series, but, due to weather, the series will be wrapping up earlier.
The teams will now play a doubleheader on Friday due to the forecast showing rain all day Saturday in Columbia. The doubleheader will feature a pair of 9-inning games, set to begin at noon. There will be a 1-hour break between games.
BREAKING: Carolina and LSU will play a doubleheader Friday afternoon (April 7) beginning at noon. There will be two nine-inning games with an hour break between contests.

South Carolina has the second-best record in SEC play at 8-1, with a 27-3 mark overall. Vanderbilt is on top of the SEC East standings with a 9-0 mark through 3 SEC series, and 24-5 overall.
LSU is atop the SEC West with a 6-3 conference record, including a series win over Arkansas, who is also 6-3 against SEC teams. The Tigers are 25-4.
Thursday’s series opener is currently in the 4th inning. South Carolina has a 3-1 lead. The game is streaming on SEC Network+.
