It can be incredibly difficult to handle adversity, especially at a young age, but MarShawn Lloyd is handling the recent challenge thrown his way in outstanding fashion following his season-ending injury.

If you missed the news out of Columbia on Thursday, South Carolina announced the freshman running back would miss the upcoming season after suffering an ACL injury during a recent practice. He was projected to be the team’s starting running back this fall.

“I’m extremely disappointed for MarShawn,” Will Muschamp said following the news. “It was a non-contact situation where he just planted his foot and tore his ACL. MarShawn will attack his rehabilitation like he does everything in life. The best is yet to come for MarShawn Lloyd.”

Following the news, Lloyd shared his first public comment after receiving word of his season-ending injury.

“With adversity, most would give up on it because it’s not happening right now,” Lloyd posted on Thursday. “Nope, stay with it! Pray more, lean on him more, talk to him more! The story is already written. You just have to trust and follow the map. Minor setback for a major comeback.”

Well said and the best attitude one can have following such tough news.
