South Carolina has quite a few injury situations that it’s monitoring heading into Saturday’s game against Georgia.

Gamecocks head coach Mike Bobo gave the following updates during his Tuesday press conference as his team prepares to face the Bulldogs:

  • Senior wide receiver Shi Smith is doubtful. He was injured during the loss to Missouri this past Saturday and was in concussion protocol earlier this week.
  • Redshirt sophomore wide receiver Dakereon Joyner is “questionable to probable,” per Bobo, after he practiced on Tuesday in a “limited appearance.” Joyner didn’t play against Missouri due to injury.
  • Sophomore wide receiver Xavier Legette is “still out,” and Bobo said during his teleconference this past Sunday that he doesn’t expect Legette to play again this season.
  • The following players are all questionable this week: Redshirt senior defensive lineman Keir Thomas, freshman defensive lineman Tonka Hemingway, freshman linebacker Jordan Burch and redshirt senior defensive back Jaylan Foster.

Although the Gamecocks have all these injured players, Bobo is ready to get his team ready for a tough matchup ahead.

“We have a lot of issues. I think we are down 16 scholarship players in practice,” Bobo said during his press conference. “It is what it is. Whoever is here, and willing to play, we are going to coach them up. Whoever the training staff says can play, we are going to coach them up and we’re going to go out there and battle our ass off.”

South Carolina and Georgia are set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday on SEC Network.
