South Carolina coach Will Muschamp brimmed with optimism at the Midlands GCC meeting on Wednesday.
Here are some of the highlights from what he had to say to those in attendance, most notably showing a lot of confidence in the Gamecocks’ roster in his first year at the helm.

Muschamp also talked about the quarterback position and how redshirt senior Perry Orth and freshman Brandon McIlwain have stood out for the starting job so far.

Muschamp made a definitive statement about junior LB Bryson Allen-Williams, who he says was the spring MVP. “BAW” shined last spring also, being recognized with the Everyday Attitude award for the defense at the 2015 spring game.

Muschamp had some good news surrounding the Gamecocks’ passing game as he thinks a lot of redshirt sophomore receiver Deebo Samuel’s potential. Samuel battled hamstring injuries most of the season but recorded 5 catches for 104 yards and a TD against Clemson to finish 2015.

Muschamp also revealed that the program will hold one-day camps from early to mid-June.
