Some injuries that limited several South Carolina players have improved enough to likely help them at Georgia this week.

Coach Will Muschamp said RB Rico Dowdle (ankle), WR/QB Dakereon Joyner (hamstring) and WR Randrecous Davis (ankle) all practiced to start the week and are expected to play against Georgia. Muschamp added that RB Kevin Harris, who tore a tendon off his pubic bone earlier in the season, is healing faster than expected and should return by the end of the season. It was initially thought to be a season-ending injury.

“He’s progressing extremely well off of his surgery,” Muschamp said.

Joyner didn’t play against Kentucky, and Dowdle suffered his injury late in the UK game.

Dowdle is a welcome addition to face a Georgia rushing defense that hasn’t allowed a rushing touchdown this season. South Carolina is coming off its most impressive rushing game of the season against Kentucky.

“I think that obviously gives you confidence,” Muschamp said at his regular weekly press conference on Tuesday. “You go to Missouri and don’t run the ball very well and they did some nice job with some things and we weren’t as effective as we need to be. Then we rushed the ball well against Kentucky. Brings you some more confidence. We ran the ball well against Alabama, and we’ve just been inconsistent in the one game against Missouri running the football.”
