Report: South Carolina has leading head coaching candidate
The South Carolina Gamecocks could make a head coaching hire in the near-future.
According to FootballScoop, the Gamecocks have a leading candidate in current Oklahoma assistant (and former Gamecocks assistant) Shane Beamer.
The website reports that the Gamecocks would like to wrap up the coaching search by Sunday if at all possible.
In addition to Beamer, the report states that South Carolina is also interested in Louisiana’s Billy Napier and Louisville’s Scott Satterfield. Satterfield, however, seemed to indicate Saturday that he’ll be staying at UL despite having interviewed for the position.
So, that leaves Beamer and Napier for the position, with Beamer as the leading candidate.
Napier is scheduled to have a second meeting with South Carolina officials Saturday.
Report: Nothing has changed. Beamer is still the leading candidate per everyone everywhere but nothing is official yet. Just time for another post.
Hope we get something tomorrow early signing is coming fast.
I’ll say it again….
IF he’s the guy, 3 things he must do:
1. Hire a championship caliber staff
2. Let them coach
3. Recruit at a championship level
We shall see.
You’re Sakerlina.
1 and 3 are impossible.
Stop expecting that.
You’re South Carolina.
1. and 3. are impossible.
Stop expecting that. That is just one of y’all’s problem as a fanbase and program: Completely unrealistic expectations.
You’re Corch, don’t expect anyone, and I mean even UGA fans, to give any weight to your comments.
That’s rich coming from a Georgia fan that thinks they are championship material. Georgia is always going to Georgia, no matter the sport, no matter the city, lol
Point # 1 and 3 are not realistic I agree Corch. Roll Tide Roll. Cock fans should be happy with 7 wins and making a bowl game. Y’all will never ever be a championship team. Played football for over 100 years. All you have to show for is a 1969 ACC champion banner Lol
Not sure Alabama fans from the state of Alabama should have any say so about college football given that 56.7 percent of Alabama enrollees are from out of state. It’s not like it’s an instate school at that point. Besides most Bama fans never attended college classes. Plus when Saban retires or dies, (dudes pushing 70) Alabama will drop back down to the basement for another 20 years.
Napier will be a good HC somewhere.
Wonder if UT can lock either him or Freeze down, Fulmer fires Pruitt??
I don’t think Tenn will fire Pruitt yet.
