Ryan McGee explains why, despite struggles, he remains bullish on South Carolina

ESPN senior writer and New York Times bestselling author Ryan McGee is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and surely he’s excited about the season the Volunteers have had under second-year head coach Josh Heupel.

But Heupel isn’t the only second-year SEC head coach that McGee is excited about.

Beamer went 7-6 in his first season with a win in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. South Carolina (6-4, 3-4) is currently on pace for a similar record in Beamer’s second year with No. 5 Tennessee and No. 9 Clemson remaining on the schedule.

On the recruiting side, Beamer is in line to deliver a top 20 class to South Carolina. With a few lucky breaks the class could jump inside the top 15.
