Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks are hitting a make-or-break point in their 2023 season. If the Gamecocks want to make a bowl, the team will have to get things going in a hurry.

South Carolina is currently 2-5 after losing its third consecutive game with a 34-12 loss at Missouri. It doesn’t get much easier as the Gamecocks will be in College Station next weekend to take on the Texas A&M Aggies.

On Sunday, Beamer told reporters during his teleconference the Gamecocks could be without multiple players in that game. The head coach listed 6 players as questionable entering preparations for Week 9.

Xavier Legette has been by far the best wide receiver for South Carolina as he leads the team with 38 catches for 736 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was hurt in the Missouri game, finishing with 1 catch for 20 yards. Before that game, the season low for Leggette was 5 catches and 50 yards. He has games of 178  and 189 yards on offense, and it would be a massive loss if he isn’t able to go.

Ahmarean Brown is another receiver for Spencer Rattler with 15 catches on the season. The other 3 players mentioned by Beamer are offensive linemen, and this could be an issue as the Aggies are tied for the most sacks in the country with Penn State at 29.
