Shane Beamer recaps narrow win over MSU: 'Took years off my life, that one!'
Shane Beamer walked into his postgame press conference following Saturday’s win over Mississippi State a weary man.
He told reporters simply, “Took years off my life, that one!”
That about sums it up, huh? It wasn’t the prettiest, but a win is a win and South Carolina is now knotted at 2-2 on the year with a rematch against Tennessee on the horizon. More on that in the coming days.
For now, here’s what Shane Beamer told reporters following the Gamecocks’ 37-30 win over Mississippi State:

Beamer was joking with reporters postgame, but he was far from a happy man. Specifically, he pointed out Mississippi State’s Tulu Griffin, who finished with a MSU record 256 receiving yards.
“7 catches for 256 yards for Griffin. Embarrassing, frankly. Just some bad pass defense by our guys. We’ve got a lot to get better at, just getting balls thrown over our heads.” – Beamer

Beamer kept harping on the play of the secondary, saying Josh Heupel and the Vols have to be licking their chops with USC’s performance tonight:
Beamer said he thinks Josh Hepuel was watching the game tonight and enjoying South Carolina’s pass defense looking to next week.
“We’ve got to get a lot better.”

Beamer also had some injury updates for a few Gamecocks.
Injury updates:
“Thought Ahmarean would be able to go a little bit” but he didn’t feel great pre-game.O’Donnell Fortune hurt his knee late Thursday in practice and got hit on the knee a little bit late tonight but it’s “nothing serious”
Said David Spaulding is fine.
