Shane Beamer doesn’t want to think about last year’s Florida game before Saturday.
In fact, Beamer stated at Tuesday’s presser that he hasn’t mentioned it once to his team. South Carolina fans probably don’t want to talk about it either as Florida dominated the Gamecocks 38-6.
Beamer just wants to focus on the now. It’s safe to say that Beamer is glad Richardson is now in the NFL.
“I probably haven’t mentioned it one time and don’t plan on it. It was last year. Thank God Anthony Richardson’s playing for the Colts now. That was a long night in Gainesville. Give them credit, they did a great job and great gameplan. We didn’t do much at all. We have to protect the ball better than we did that night. They may be watching it because it’s a new defensive coordinator for them, so there are some schematic changes. So, our coaches may be watching it back to refer to it, but I haven’t mentioned it one time with the coaching staff and the team.”
South Carolina has had a bye week to prepare for Florida. The Gamecocks are 2-3 coming into Saturday’s game.
Beamer is hoping that there isn’t a repeat of what happened last season. Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
