South Carolina lands running back commitment out of Georgia; former NC State pledge
South Carolina added a running back to its 2021 recruiting class on Tuesday with a commitment from a running back out of Georgia.
Lee County standout Caleb McDowell announced his pledge to Will Muschamp’s Gamecocks with a video posted to his Twitter account. Listed at 5-10, 175 pounds, McDowell is rated 3-stars, the No. 60 running back and No. 835 prospect overall nationally in the 2021 class on the 247Sports Composite. South Carolina was the most recent of 14 teams to offer McDowell on May 20. M
cDowell committed to NC State on April 15 but announced via Twitter that he was backing off that pledge and reopening his recruitment on June 3. Beside the Gamecocks and Wolfpack, McDowell’s 12 other current scholarship offers include Cincinnati, Colorado, Purdue, Indiana and Syracuse.
