South Carolina learns bowl game, opponent for 2022 postseason
South Carolina can now make plans for the postseason, as the Gamecocks are headed to the Gator Bowl.
The Gamecocks, who were the hottest team around down the stretch with wins over Tennessee and Clemson, will play Notre Dame in the game, which kicks off at 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 30 from TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida on ESPN.
Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks are trying to duplicate their success last year when they beat North Carolina in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.

The teams have a common opponent in Clemson, which they each beat, and the Fighting Irish also knocked off North Carolina and Syracuse. The team is led by star tight end Michael Mayer, who is a finalist for the Mackey Award, given to the top player in the country at the position.
