South Carolina and North Carolina have a long history on the gridiron and the two programs look to continue that history in the years to come as a new home-and-home series between the two has just been finalized
The two programs are already set to open the 2023 season in Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. in the Duke’s Mayo Classic on Sept. 2 and now they will have two more matchups set to be played in the years to come.
South Carolina is now set to host North Carolina on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2028, in Williams-Brice Stadium with the Gamecocks making the return trip to Kenan Memorial Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C., on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2029, according to Kevin Kelley of FBSchedules. FBSchedule has obtained a copy of the agreement between the two programs.
North Carolina holds the all-time edge over South Carolina with a 35-19-4 record. The two programs most recently met to open the 2019 season, a matchup won by the Tar Heels 24-20.
