South Carolina OL Jordan Davis announced via social media on Wednesday that he would be leaving Columbia following an 8-4 season. Davis will have 3 years of eligibility remaining at his next school.
“There are no amount of words for me to thank coach Beamer and his staff,” Davis wrote. “My experience at USC has been the best experience I could ask for.
“This is one of the hardest decisions in my life but after further conversation with my family I think it’s best to enter my name in the transfer portal. Thank you Gamecock Nation.”

A native of Georgia, Davis was a 3-star recruit and the No. 124 offensive tackle, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. During his recruiting process, he chose South Carolina over programs such as Georgia Tech, Kansas, Kent State and Akron.
Currently, players are not allowed to enter the transfer portal until the official start date on Dec. 5. Players, however, are allowed to announce their intent to transfer at any time, thus allowing them to explore options early.
Davis did not play in a single game during his 2 seasons with the program. The Gamecocks are currently awaiting their bowl assignment following back-to-back upset wins over then-No. 5 Tennessee and then-No. 8 Clemson to close out the season.
